Job Summary

Leading the Member Association (MA) of SOS Children’s Villages in Tanzania and Zanzibar, the National Director (ND) guarantees the general performance, direction, and operations of the entity. Aligning strategies for both programs and financial sustainability with the vision, mission, and values of the company, the ND is in charge of creating and implementing them.

The ND will work closely with the Board of Directors for MA Tanzania and MA Zanzibar, the International Director Region (IDR), the CVI Representative, Regional Office Functional Directors, and Advisors, among other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Direction and Governance

  • Create and guide strategic plans to forward the goals and mission of the MA in Tanzania and Zanzibar.
  • Guarantee of following legislative criteria and corporate governance standards.
  • Oversaw the application of measures to guarantee efficient reporting of development and monitoring.
  • Lead by example in ethics and morality, addressing any non-adherence to values, ethics, and codes.

Sustainability and Fund Development

  • Create and carry out sensible fundraising schemes to guarantee long-term viability.
    Control the MA’s financial resources by means of financial report evaluation, so guaranteeing efficient cost control.
    Oversaw the creation and application of reasonable, workable fund development plans.

Marketing and Brand Awareness

  • Oversaw the MA’s communications, branding, and marketing plans.
  • Maintaining close ties with both internal and outside stakeholders helps to maximise programs and enhance service delivery.

Strategic Relationship Management

  • Create and preserve strategic alliances to guarantee support for the aims of SOS CVI.
    Represent SOS CVI to other pertinent stakeholders, national and provincial governments.

People Management and Development

  • Oversaw growth of national office management staff, orientation, performance management, and recruiting.
    Promote a good workplace and guarantee solid staff interactions.

Child Safeguarding (CS)

  • Apply and oversee the Child Protection Policy of SOS CVI.
    Please ensure compliance with child safety guidelines and report any concerns related to them.

Required Qualifications

  • Ideally, you have a degree in social sciences, business, or a similar discipline; a master’s degree in business administration, education, or social sciences is also desired.
    At least two years as a national director, managing director, or CEO combined with at least ten years of experience in top management.
    Strong knowledge of child rights, child development, family and community development, and advocacy.
    One must be fluent in English as well as Swahili.
    Good driver’s license.
