About The College of Business Education

Chartered by Parliament No. 31 of 1965, the College of Business Education (CBE) emerged in 1965. It is the responsibility of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to run the college. Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, Mwanza, and Mbeya are the four locations of the college.Employers in both the public and private sectors hire CBE grads, according to the five-year Tracer Study (2016–2021). According to the statistics, out of all the graduates, 36.9% work for the government, 19.5% for private companies, and 1.8% for non-governmental organisations (NGOs). The remaining 41.8% are graduates who are either self-employed or currently without a job.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES (CONTRACT)

The College of Business Education (CBE) is currently accepting applications from eligible Tanzanians for a one-year contract post that is renewable once. Legislation, specifically Act No. 315 R.E. 2002, was passed by the Parliament to establish the College of Business Education.

A public university, the College of Business Education offers courses, research, and consulting services in areas like accounting, supply chain management, marketing, information and communication technology, and metrology and standards. The college is seeking applications from qualified Tanzanians for the following open post to improve the quality of instruction, research, and public service delivery:

Office Management Secretaries II (13 Posts)

1.1 Entry Qualifications

Proficient in computer programs (MS-Word, MS-Excel, Internet, Email, MS-Publisher) from a recognised institution; holder of a Form IV/VI certificate and a diploma in secretarial studies (NTA Level 6). Can type 100 words per minute in English and Hati Mkato (Kiswahili).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • So that his or her office may receive letters and other types of correspondence;
  • To greet guests and guide them to the appropriate scheduled officers;
  • In order to remember things and make arrangements for their smooth execution, it is crucial to keep track of activities like functions, appointments, trips, and meetings;

To receive calls and files and transmit messages to relevant recipients;

  • In order to furnish the scheduled officers with pertinent details;
  • Purchasing necessary office supplies and equipment;
  • In order to gather documents and send them on to the designated official;
  • In order to fill out paperwork for departmental gatherings;

To facilitate and serve official meetings;

  • For the purpose of reporting broken machinery and following up on their replacement or repair;
  • To determine what supplies are needed for the office, make a list of those supplies, and then follow up on getting those supplies; and
  • To type up official and secret correspondence per the supervisor’s instructions.
  • To carry out any additional related tasks that may be delegated by higher-ups.

Salary Scale: PGSS 4
